Natures Touch Healing Center

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a 2000 year old system of medicine in which very fine needles are placed at special energy points on the body. The needles activate the Qi or life force in the body and promote natural healing by enhancing recuperative power, immunity and physical and emotional well being. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health as effective in treating these conditions:

Addictions to Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking, Anxiety, Arthritis, Asthma, Bronchitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue, Colitis, Colds, Constipation, Depression, Diarrhea, Digestive Trouble, Dizziness, Emotional Problems, Eye Disease, Facial Palsy/Tics, Fertility, Fibromyalgia, Headache, Incontinence, IBS, Low Back Pain, Menopause, Menstrual irregularities, Migraines, Morning Sickness, Nausea, Osteo Arthritis, PMS, Sciatica, Seasonal Affective Disorder(SAD) Shoulder Pain, Sinusitis, Sore Throat, Stress, Tennis Elbow, Tonsillitis, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and Wrist Pain.

Chinese Herbs

Chinese herbal medicine is a very powerful part of Traditional Oriental Medicine. Once Cindy has made a diagnosis, herbs can continue to work on the problem between acupuncture visits. Herbs come in powder or capsule form. Herbs differ from pharmaceuticals because they are powdered leaves, roots, stems or flowers. It would be unusual to take 6 capsules of pharmaceutical medications because they are refined and condensed to a single dose. It is not unusual at all to have to take 6 capsules of herbs in a single dose to get enough of the herbs to be therapeutic. If a patient has trouble taking capsules, we can order the herbs in powdered form. They are mixed with warm water and ingested as a tea.

Nature’s Touch Healing Center only uses the finest, safest quality herbs from the Evergreen Herb Company. John and Tina Chen of Evergreen oversee the quality and create custom blended formulas. Dr. Chen is a Doctor of Pharmacy as well as Chinese Medicinals. He has created formulas that treat common ailments for which people use pharmaceuticals.
